Zero Calorie Mixers with Mountain Valley Sparkling Water

Sometimes diets and boring tend to go hand in hand. When you think healthy eating, you might think bland vegetables, dull salads, flavorless chicken. When you think healthy drinking, there’s water and, well, more water.

But a healthy diet doesn’t have to make you yawn - we're here to help.

Zero calorie mixers like our sparkling waters can add big flavor and fizz to almost any beverage and help brighten any meal — while keeping it healthful and diet friendly. Mountain Valley Spring Water makes the most award-winning, zero calorie sparkling waters on the market. From our Sparkling White Peach to our Sparkling Blackberry Pomegranate to the refreshing kick of our Sparkling Key Lime Twist, Mountain Valley’s bubbly lineup isn’t just free of calories, it’s also free of additives, preservatives, sugars and sweeteners.

Like all of our waters, Mountain Valley’s no-calorie sparklers come from our protected source deep in the heart of the Ouachita Mountains, USA. They are naturally mineralized, naturally delicious and infused with a juicy hint of natural fruit essence.

If you’re bored with healthy eating, here are some ideas for adding sparkle to your diet.

Zero Calorie Mixers for Mocktails

A healthy diet often means reducing or eliminating alcohol. But the ritual of a Friday night drink can be replicated without the booze.

The key: Make your mocktails look good.

We eat with our eyes first. We drink with our eyes first, too. Garnish your mocktails with sprigs of mint and thyme, twists of citrus, salt-dipped rims, maybe even a gooey Luxardo cherry (it’s a mere 10 calories, we looked it up).

Pour your mocktails in proper glasses, stir them with fancy swizzle sticks, and sip them with swirly straws.

Here’s a classic low calorie mocktail from our Mountain Valley archives to get you started:

Low Calorie Mocktail Recipe: Sparkling Blackberry, Sage & Grapefruit

Ingredients:

  • 6 fresh blackberries
  • 2 fresh sage leaves
  • 1 ounce freshly squeezed grapefruit juice
  • 1 ounce simple syrup (trim to ½ ounce if desired)
  • 4 ounces Mountain Valley Sparkling Blackberry Pomegranate

Directions:

  • Place blackberries and sage leaves into a cocktail shaker and muddle until blackberries are disintegrated.
  • Add simple syrup and grapefruit juice. Shake vigorously.
  • Put ice in your glass of choice and strain mixture over the ice.
  • Pour in Mountain Valley Sparkling Blackberry Pomegranate Sparkling.
  • Garnish with sage leaves and any additional blackberries.

Zero Calorie Mixers for Cocktails

Boozy cocktails don’t have to break the calorie bank. But they quite easily can, if you’re not careful.

A single Long Island Iced Tea can pack a walloping 780 calories thanks to all the alcohol, sure, but also the cola and sour mix that finish it off. If calories are a concern, watch out for mixers in general. Other highly caloric cocktails — margaritas, pina coladas, white Russians — are also made with sugary mixes. Most liquors (vodka, whiskey, gin, tequila) have 100-110 calories per 50 milliliter shot. It’s the add-ins that can ruin diets.

The solution: zero calories mixers like those from Mountain Valley.

Our no-calorie sparkling spring waters are the perfect 1:1 substitute for sugar-laden soft drinks. Instead of gin with lemon-lime soda, try a gin with Mountain Valley Sparkling Key Lime Twist. Love a vodka cranberry but hate the sugar? Opt for a vodka with Mountain Valley Sparkling Blackberry Pomegranate.

If you want a little sweetness, try swapping half of your usual cocktail mixer with a zero calorie sparkling Mountain Valley option. Make your next Moscow Mule with half ginger beer, half Mountain Valley Sparkling White Peach. Craft your next margarita with Mountain Valley Sparkling Key Lime Twist and just a splash of triple sec.

And remember, simple syrup can be your friend, especially when you make your own. This blend of 1 part sugar to 1 part water can be made on the stove or in the microwave. Just bring the water to a boil, stir in the sugar (it can be organic, demerara, or even brown sugar, which is less processed than white sugar), wait for it to melt, then let the syrup cool. One ounce of 1:1 simple syrup packs about 50 calories, and oftentimes ½ ounce is plenty for cocktails and mocktails, especially when mixing with Mountain Valley’s award-winning, no-calorie sparkling waters.

Here’s a mouthwatering example:

Low Calorie Cocktail Recipe: Whiskey Peach Tea

Ingredients:

  • 1.5 ounces bourbon
  • 1 ounce unsweet tea
  • 1 ounce lemon juice
  • 1 ounce simple syrup
  • 1-2 peach slices
  • Topped with Mountain Valley Sparkling White Peach

Directions:

  • Muddle peach slices and combine with all ingredients into a rocks glass filled with ice. Top to your liking with Mountain Valley White Peach Sparkling and enjoy!

Zero Calorie Mixers for Everyday

Whether it’s a Tuesday work-from-home lunch break or just something quick to sip while running errands, a little sparkle goes a long way to reaching your healthy-eating goals.

Instead of a whiskey peach tea, make it a fizzy peach tea by adding equal parts Mountain Valley Sparkling White Peach to your favorite unsweetened iced tea. Kick up (and sugar down) a glass of morning orange juice by cutting it with Mountain Valley Sparkling Key Lime Twist. Make afternoon Zoom meetings bubble with Mountain Valley Sparkling Blackberry Pomegranate mixed with a splash of lemonade.

Or skip the mixers altogether and drink our delicious, purely sourced sparkling spring water on its own and see for yourself what all the award-winning fuss is about.
