From Source to Bottle

Since 1871, we began bottled refreshing, mineral filled spring water that Americans have come to love. A question that many of those customers have asked over the years is how does our water pick up all of those minerals while maintaining a high Alkaline pH?
While we wish that we could take all of the credit for our healthy and delicious water, we must admit that we don’t mess with perfection. As the water moves from the aquifer through the ground, the water comes in contact with calcium carbonate, which is limestone. As the calcium carbonate is dissolved in the water, it raises the pH to the level it is.

Mountain Valley Spring Water comes out of the ground naturally higher in alkalinity. On the pH scale, which goes from 1 to 14, 7 is neutral. Anything above 7 is alkaline, while everything that falls below 7 is acidic. Mountain Valley Spring water bottles at 7.3 - 7.8 pH which is higher than most of our competition.
